Don Carson Discovered

Want to hear a very good biblical expositor who is very evangelistic?

I had the privilege of Listening to Don Carson preached at St Andrews Cathedral for Tuesday morning, and Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Just astounding was his grasp of scripture and his very clear and scholarly exposition. Able to answer all sorts of questions and to keep the crowd coming and growing. Very fortunate to have a seat in the main underground and new auditorium, while hundreds had to watch by cctv in other rooms.

Tonight he will be at St John/St. Margaret's, Dover area, Singapore, to speak on "Can the Truth be Nailed?" as he addresses the Postmodern Issue.

Donald A. Carson is research professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. In 1989 Carson was voted Faculty of the Year at Trinity. Carson received the Doctor of Philosophy in New Testament from Cambridge University.

Carson's areas of expertise include biblical theology, the historical Jesus, postmodernism, pluralism, Johannine and Pauline theology. He can read about a dozen languages, and is fluent in French. Carson has written or edited over 45 books; The Gagging of God: Christianity Confronts Pluralism (1996) won the 1997 Evangelical Christian Publishers Association Gold Medallion Award in the category "theology and doctrine."

There is a very good note-taker and blogger who is making many of us very happy. She has faithfully posted quite remarkably, most of the lectures for the evening sessions at St.Andrews from Tuesday to Thursday. You may visit Denise and enjoy Denise's gift to us.
